Press Release Body = My name is Denada, I am a writer that finds so much interest in such an amazing story as the one that follows..
My name is Ayad and I am born in June 1966 in the holy town of Najaf in Iraq. To introduce my self I must dig through my heart until I find that bench where happiness and grief sits together so that future can meet the past and I can finally talk about it. Since my childhood, the desire to paint was like a lucid reflection in the mirror from which I could see the future I wonted and that was to become an artist. With this big dream, I went to study in the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad. Another step has been climbed in the labyrinth of my life and it was going to fulfill me. The surrealistic style of painting captivated me making my paintings quiet different from anyone else, but the professors who couldn't allow any other conceptual form of art criticized my style and my paintings that to them expressed intimidated ideas against Saddam Hussein and his dictatorial regime. I was expelled from college and latter they arrested me. My art style and my paintings were taking me into the hellish abyss of the dictator. Several deadly streets were spread into my life when I was arrested and 10 years of freedom were prevented to me. My innocence and the new visions of my future paintings were the only things that kept me alive through the horrifying prison of Saddam. But for the ironical fate of mine, there was held an exhibition of paintings in the jail and I presented the work, I did for those 4 years I stayed in. Unlike the other times, I got too many prices and they treasured my art style. After a few days, a man liberated me from the prison with the prerequisite of working for his anonymous master. I started painting non stop at a huge house without being able to get out and was again prisoner of this man later I found out to be Saddam Hussein. Over 2000 paintings were taken from me and I was there for more then 3 years suffering for the freedom I didn't own. When the 1991 revolution arrived, I could escape and leaving my family and horrifying past behind I arrived in America. For the first time I created over 700 oil paintings to present them into a book with the freedom I dreamed of. And I wish that my book could create my future and the art future. I also dedicate this brochure to the orphan children's to donate as much as we can so all of us can see the real freedom. My paintings like a flock of wild birds flight into the skies becoming parts of them, while I remain somewhere on those horizons, those altitudes that the darkness of bright colors create and that only a artist with my suffering soul can really understand. Thank you
